A 37-year-old woman in Louisiana in the US who has vitiligo has become a model to inspire and empower others with the skin condition.
Iomikoe Johnson, a mother-of-four, has shared her pictures in a bid to show that "beauty is beyond skin" after learning to embrace her skin.
She first developed the condition when she was 25. In an interview, she said she was so ashamed of it that she spent up to an hour each day applying makeup to hide the white patches on her skin.
She said: "I got vitiligo when I was twenty-five-years-old and I'll never forget it, I was devastated, I felt like my world had been shattered."
Johnson only learned to love herself after her fiancé Philip told her that he loved her just the way she is. She then ditched the makeup, became more confident and took up modeling.
She hopes that by coming out she would inspire other people with vitiligo to embrace themselves and be more confident. She said: "I want the world to see my art. I'm walking art, human art."
