A report by Daily Trust indicates that six members of the vigilante youth group popularly known as Civilian JTF, have been killed by Boko Haram militants.
The incident reportedly happened when the insurgents were firing guns towards an IDPs camp in Ngala local government area of Borno state.
NAIJ.com had earlier reported that the terrorists launched a Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG) into the IDPs camp on Friday, September 8.
NAIJ.com gathered that the IDPs camp is home to 80,000 people in the state.
The Executive Director of the Network of the Civil Society Organizations in the state, Ambassador Ahmed Shehu, who shared the story with journalists said: “The explosion was followed by a suic*de bomber, who attacked the International School Camp through the back axis of Wulgo/Zannari wall. Unfortunately, six Civilian JTF on duty were killed.”
Meanwhile, a total of 680 members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) have died trying to repel Boko Haram terrorists attacks in Borno from 2012 to date, the groups legal officer, Mr Junril Gunda, has said.
