President Muhammadu Buhari, has urged the leader of Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, Gani Adams to use his new position as Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land to enhance the unity of Nigeria.
Buhari also urged the OPC leader to pursue worthy goals of security and peace among Nigerians.
The President made the remark while congratulating Adams on his inauguration as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo and was contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina and sent to DAILY POST.
The President also commended the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi 111, on the appointment of Adams as the new Aare Ona Kakanfo.
Buhari said the new Ona Kakanfo will assist the monarch in the “arduous task of leading the illustrious Yoruba people.”
He, however, urged the new Kakanfo to bring, “quintessential courage, wisdom and astuteness to bear on his new office, for a more secured life for the weak, vulnerable and voiceless in the country.”
The President praid that the almighty God will grant the Aare Ona Kakanfo a favourable reign.
