Moses Simon scored the opener in the 30th minute with a left footed volley after a poor clearance. Cameroon equalized via a Vincent Aboubakar penalty after Ikechukwu Ezenwa was adjudged to have taken down Faye.

As things stand. Nigeria top group B with 10 points from four games, six ahead of Zambia on four points but have played three games.
