The inaugural meeting of Northern Governors' Forum and Northern Traditional Rulers Committee meeting on restructuring is presently holding in Kaduna state.
NAIJ.com gathered that Sokoto state governor, Aminu Tambuwal, is chairing the meeting on restructuring.
The committee is expected to aggregate views from Northern Nigeria on their position as regards restructuring and submit a report to the NGF.
The meeting has in attendance northern governors and Emirs who have been tasked to discuss the growing agitation for restructuring.
In a previous report by NAIJ.com, the people and leaders of the Yoruba in the South-west, Kogi and Kwara states and the Diaspora have demanded for a six-regional structure as a condition for an indivisible country.
The Yoruba leaders also recommended the devolution of 25 items on the Exclusive list in the 1999 Constitution, ranging from customs duties to exchange control, currency, coinage and legal tender, arms, ammunition and explosives, and citizenship, naturalisation and aliens among others.
