Over 40 terrorists suspected to be Boko Haram Islamist sect members were on Wednesday killed in a military raid involving air strikes and ground troops of the 7 Division, Nigerian Army in Bita village area along Damboa-Gwoza road of Borno State.

It would be recalled that barely 12 days ago, over 20 suspected terrorists were reportedly killed in the late hours of Friday 15th November, 2015, by the troops of the Division in Bita village, while some others escaped when the military attacked one of the Boko Haram hideouts in the area, as confirmed to journalists by the Spokesman of the Division, Colonel Mohammed Dole.

Bita is a one of the several villages which harbours stronghold bases of the Boko Haram terrorists located 32 kilometres west of Gwoza. While Gwoza town is just about 135 kilometres away from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, which had witnessed series of terror attacks and killings in recent times.
