The Nigeria Football Federation on Wednesday organised a charity match between Lobi Stars and Nasarawa United in Makurdi in honour of the victims of the recent flooding that displaced many people in the Benue State capital.

Chairman of the NFF Media and Publicity Committee, Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande; Alhaji Yusuf Fresh (Chairman of the NFF Referees Committee); and Alhaji Mohammed Alkali (Independent Chairman of the Nationwide League One) played important roles in organisation of the clash.

Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom commended the NFF for supporting the flood victims when the football chiefs visited him at the Government House, Makurdi.

Ortom said, “I am really impressed by this gesture from the Nigerian football family. We are encouraged by your support and I want to assure you that the Government of Benue State will continue to give Lobi Stars all the support needed to participate credibly in national competitions.”
