It has been revealed how Manchester United players goaded their Manchester City rivals on and off the pitch after their 3-2 win at the Etihad on Saturday.
Manchester City scored two goals in the first half, but succumbed to a 3-2 defeat after a stunning, Paul Pogba-inspired comeback.
Last Saturday’s result was a complete reversal from the last time they met at Old Trafford, when City emerged victorious, and the visitors’ over-zealous celebrations led to tunnel melee.
The Sun, UK, reports that the Red Devils reminded City’s players what happened at Old Trafford.
At Old Trafford, United manager, Jose Mourinho had asked City to turn down their music and show more respect.
The Sun reports that last Saturday, it was United who turned the volume all the way up.
The report claimed Manchester United players had speakers in their dressing room blaring while they also started dishing out insults with Chris Smalling giving them the lead.
Before the match on Saturday, United players had discovered that City’s players had already booked tables at restaurants to celebrate their win on Saturday night.
During the game, a United player told City players during a brawl, “Booked tables have you? We’ll take your f***ing tables.”
United’s victory denied City a record-breaking, earliest ever Premier League title win, and they now need two more victories to guarantee the title.
