Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has spoken about the police seige on his residence, that almost stopped him from presiding over Tuesday’s plenary session.

The Senate President also explained that Ekweremadu could not be present, because “he cannot get out of his house”.

According to him, the policemen were sent to their respective homes, because some lawmakers planned to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“DSP is absent. He cannot get out of his house. He is being held under seige.

“This morning I could not also leave my street as well because some people believed today’s seating must not hold because some members want to move or defect,” Saraki said.

A total of 15 Senators eventually cross-carpeted to the PDP, before the Senate proceedings was adjourned until September 26.
